LOCAL FOREST REMINDS TRAIL USERS OF RESPONSIBLE RIDING TIPS

Utah is emerging from a long wet winter.  Snow packs are at record levels. The spring melt is coming slowly because of an extra wet and cold spring.  Wet weather and snow melt is expected to continue for a while, and I am betting a long while. With that in mind  Loyal Clark of the Uinta, Wasatch-Cache National Forest reminds us that we impact trails when riding or walking through them, creating holes and ruts in the trail during the snow melt.

While most of the higher elevation trails are still under snow, some trails accessed via the Alpine Loop will be affected by a wet weather trail closure this spring.  Users should watch for posted closure signs, or contact the Pleasant Grove Ranger District office, 801-785-3563, for current trail closures.
