I ride with a group that seems to frequent Five Mile Pass in the shoulder seasons. We decided to take a spring ride in Utah’s west desert on March 17.
The conditions were “fun”. All of the lower trails and main areas were clear of snow and mostly dry, however up on the higher north side trails were snow packed and muddy. There were a few areas that I needed to be winched out due to the snow being too deep. It was only a few short areas I am sure that by now the snow has melted and things are fairly dry with a few exceptions.
5 Mile pass is known for its rock quarries and silver mines. There are lots of mine shafts and a variety of mining equipment. We found an ore loader. (Google Maps or GPS N 40° 17.956 W 112° 12.728)
Anyway here are the photos and videos we took from our adventure.
