While surfing the Yamaha website I found this little gem from 1980.  Please enjoy the trip down amnesia lane.

The Tri-Moto was the first Yamaha ATV sold in the U.S.A way back in 1980. It featured a 123cc two-stroke engine, Autolube oil injection system, CDI ignition, a snorkel air intake and a five speed transmission. It was designed to be a durable workhorse as well as the ultimate recreational vehicle. Voted one of the most ugly ATVs ever by Outdoor Life.

  1. I have one that looks like this, but we can’t find a serial number on the frame or anywhere. Just an engine number. Don’t know what year it is. We also wonder what type of oil to put in it, two stroke or 10-30? If anyone knows please tell me.
    Thanks.

  2. 10W-30 in the crank case/tranny, 2-stroke oil in the reservoir tank, left side of wheeler

  3. this was my first ATV! lots of good memories. for oil, run Yamalube pre mix 2 stroke oil. I would love to have one again for nostalgia. I have 2 atvs and 2 dirt bikes now, but great memories on first Tri Moto 125
